{Mock} Chicken Noodle Soup

This is one of my favorite soup recipes ever

It's especially good for when your family is sick.

I'm vegetarian so that's how I make it, but you could probably alter the recipe a little and use real chicken too.

Either way, I'm sure it would be yum!

Mock Chicken Noodle Soup

 6 cups water
2 T. McKay's chicken style seasoning (you can find in health food stores)
Onion, chopped
Celery, chopped
1-2 T. margarine
21/2 cup fine egg noodles
1 can Fri-chik or diced-chik, with juice (mock chicken substitute)
Dash salt, if needed

Combine all ingredients in a large pot except for the noodles.  Cook until vegetables are tender.
Add noodles and cook until done.

ENJOY!

Camping Baby Shower

One of my really good friends is ready to have a baby boy and I was lucky enough to be able to throw the baby shower for her.

I chose a camping theme and everything turned out so awesome, thanks to the ideas I gleaned from Pinterest!!

Can't wait to share it with you!

We had dirt pudding, trail mix, moose poop, a deluxe s'mores bar, duckie crackers, fresh berries, grizzly bears (gummies), cookies, a lady bug cake, and pigs in a blanket, along with bug juice.

The S'mores Bar was a huge hit.  And the bugs we had crawling through everywhere. {hehe}

It was a great party and SUCH a fun theme.

SO excited you're having a baby Melissa!

Here's some pictures of our fun evening.

Housekeeping

I figure I have a little explaining to do.

I know I started the Trendy Tuesday party awhile ago, and for awhile, that's the only thing I have been doing on my blog.

And then my hubby asked me why I never had personal posts with posts about our families on the blog.

And I've been thinking.  Why don't I?

So...for right now, I have been doing mostly personal photo posts, what I like to do best.  And for right now the party is at rest.

I may bring it back sometime, but I figured why spend all of that time on the party when it was so hard to get people to come.  I spent A LOT of time inviting people and I just didn't want to spend all of my time that way.

I just really wanted to bring a personal touch to my blog and have it be a way to document family memories.

And soon there will be a lot of fun projects that I will be sharing with you.  I have some fun Christmas projects planned in the next few months.

So that's where I am right now.  Hope you will still come and share my journey with me.

Black and White Photos {A Touch of Vintage}

{A Touch of Vintage is BACK...gasp!}

I have always LOVED black and white photos.  So here are some of my favorite recent photos of the girls in black/white.

I like the ones with a bit of color which I edit by taking almost all of the saturation away from the picture, then adding it back until there is just a slight bit of color.

Any of you have fun ways to edit in black and white?

Thanks for dropping in for

{Beautiful Day}

Today is beautiful and I hope you find some inspiration in these quotes that I found.

You are beautiful and life is beautiful.  Never forget that.

And always remember that YOU can make life beautiful by who you are and what you do.
